Welcome to the
CHAIRS for CHILDREN
website! You will find a full Image Gallery of all our chairs on "The
Chairs" page above, be sure to visit the entire site for Sponsor,
Artist, Volunteer and other information.
The Gala Auction
was held on Saturday, September 16th and it was a great success! The
CHAIRS for CHILDREN event spanned two years and involved the hard work
of over 150 volunteers. Together with our Sponsors and Artists, we made
over $170,000 which directly funds Pathways for Children Programs and
benefits the over 400 children from Cape Ann who attend every year.
We are excited to announce that we surpassed our original goal set by
our 2004 Lobster Landings event which brought in $140,000.
CHAIRS for CHILDREN
was Pathways for Children's newest signature even; a follow-up to the
overwhelming success of Lobster Landings, 2004. Seeking a unique way
to engage the community, volunteers, supporters and visitors to Cape
Ann, Pathways created Lobster Landings after such highly successful
events as "Cows on Parade" (Chicago), and "The Cavalcade
of Cod" (Boston), which provided financial support and notoriety
for their respective charitable causes.
Chairs for Children
featured 45 fabulously painted or decorated Adirondack Chairs. Chosen
for their coastal character and useful purpose, these Adirondack chairs
featured the designs of prominent Cape Ann artists, and were displayed
throughout the summer of 2006 for all to enjoy.
Thank you to everyone who participated in what has become known as Pathways
for Children's signature event!

The
above chair was designed for Varian
Semiconductor Equipment as part of their Gala Sponsorship benefits by
Montserrat College of Art students, Andrew Bablo and Alyssa Watters.
This chair will reside permanently at Varian.
