Chair Auction is Saturday, September 16th!
The Chairs for Children Gala Auction is only a week
away. If you have not yet RSVP’d, please be sure to
do so. We are looking forward to a wonderful
evening.
Thanks again to everyone who has made this event
possible. Chairs for Children is a vital part of
Pathways’ fundraising endeavor to fill the gaps in
program funding and enabling Pathways to continue
to
serve over 400 children from Cape Ann with high
quality care.
If you are not able to make it to the Gala, but are
interested in a chair, we are accepting Proxy Bids up
through Wednesday, September 13th. For more
information on proxy bidding, click here for a proxy bid sheet. A
complete photo gallery of the chairs is
available on the website.

We have a winner!
|
|
On Tuesday, September 5th, Mayor John Bell drew
the winner of Senator Bruce Tarr’s chair “Sesame
Street
Sitter”. The lucky winner is from upstate New York
and says she visits Gloucester at least once every
summer stating, “Don’t I wish we were locals for the
summers. We love the area and try to get there
whenever possible.” She was so excited to win and
says her granddaughters are going to love this
wonderful chair.
Thanks again to Senator Tarr for supporting
Pathways and our Chairs for Children event. (photo

Lolita the Lobster loves Lobsta Land
|
|
Chair Sponsor, Lobsta Land, went the extra mile by
setting up a place for Lolita the Lobster to spend the
summer. Cory Grammas, owner of Lobsta Land, and
his children wanted to make Lolita feel at home, so
they painted a wall outside the restaurant to
resemble an under-the-sea world.
It
features
jellyfish, crabs, seahorses, fish and of course, Lolita!
While Lolita will no longer be the center of attention,
please be sure to stop by Lobsta Land and enjoy this
wonderful outdoor mural.

Honoring Wise Women
|
|
Chair Sponsors Jan Bell and Kathy Slifer supported
Pathways through their sponsorship of an Adirondack
chair in “Honor of Wise Women”. They wanted to
send a special message to women of Gloucester who
serve and enrich our community through their
volunteer work, specifically; Mim Maguire, Beverly
Arslanian, Eleanor Cummings and Florence
Lane.
Sally Seamans, also known as Tin Can Sally, designed
this chair from her personal collection of original tin,
entitling it “Bottom of Gloucester Harbor”. Sally
says “At the bottom of Gloucester Harbor I envision
there is everything from sunken boats and old car
bodies to domino pieces and marbles. But mostly I
envision there are many, many tins. On this chair are
many vintage tins, including an old oyster tin (oysters
used to come in tins the size of gallon paint cans),
and pickle and tobacco tins. There is also a Johnny
Damon baseball trading card, because that is where it
belongs - at the Bottom of Gloucester Harbor!”
