|
WHAT: Remember the Lobsters? WHEN: Thursday, February 9th, 2004, 9:00 am to 10:00 am. WHERE: Pathways for Children, 29 Emerson Avenue, Gloucester, MA 01930 DETAILS: Following the overwhelming success of 2004's Lobster Landings, Pathways for Children is preparing for its second community art event entitled "Chairs for Children: Take a Seat for Pathways." This event will feature 40 custom-made Adirondack chairs to be painted or decorated by renowned Cape Ann artists, and on display through out the summer of '06. The custom-made chairs were created by master craftsman Scott Masi, whose work has been featured in Coastal Living, Fine Wood Working, and Better Homes and Gardens. Artists currently signed on to paint/decorate these unique canvases include Oliver Balf, Joan Bediz, Larry Bitman, Caro Gray-Bosca, John Caggiano, Jan Charles, Kathy Connolly, Charlie Crowley, Val Doyon, Paul Gaucher, Paul George, Rose Marie Glen, Pam Hawkes, Mary Hughes, Ruth Mordecai, Tom Nicholas, Peter Niemitz, Claire Sanford, Sally Seamans, Kathy Speranza, Gene Stewart, Loretta Stride, Marilyn Swift, Paul Swigart, Bruce Turner, Jeff Weaver, Loren Widfeldt-Doucette, and Chris Williams. One finished chair, painted by well-known local artist Oliver Balf, has already been completed, and will be on display throughout the morning. These one-of-a-kind pieces will be auctioned in September, raising much-needed funds to help Pathways fill the gaps caused by cutbacks in state and local funding. PHOTO/VIDEO OPPORTUNITIES |
