TD Banknorth Steps Up to "Take a Seat for Pathways"

Signs on as Major Sponsor for Pathways for Children's Newest Public Art Endeavor

Gloucester, MA. - Pathways for Children is pleased to announce that TD Banknorth has committed to a $10,000 sponsorship role as the "Silent Auction and Children's Chairs Sponsor" for Pathways' CHAIRS for CHILDREN event. The generous contribution will be used to sponsor ten youth-sized chairs which will be painted and decorated by local artists. The ten youth chairs, along with 30 adult sized chairs, will be on public display throughout the summer of 2006.

CHAIRS for CHILDREN is the much anticipated follow up to 2004's Lobster Landings event, which raised more than $130,000 to help Pathways fill the gaps in children's programming caused by cutbacks in state and local funding. Pathways has commissioned renowned local artists to paint and decorate 40 high-quality Adirondack chairs, which were custom designed for Pathways by master craftsman Scott Masi. The solid mahogany chairs will be auctioned in September 2006, raising much-needed funds for Pathway's programs.

"Chairs for Children offers a unique opportunity to support a creative, comprehensive event involving area artists, Pathways parents, children, and staff," states Joanne Sullivan, Assistant VP of Community Relations for TD Banknorth. "TD Banknorth is proud to sponsor an event that will benefit the families and communities that rely on Pathways for Children for a wide range of excellent services."
