Last spring, a group of dedicated volunteers came up with a unique idea to raise awareness for Pathways for Children, a North Shore organization providing nearly 400 children and families with early education and child care programs. They called it Lobster Landings, modeled after Bostons Calvacade of Cod, Chicagos Cows On Parade, and similar events in Pennsylvania and Maine. Large unpainted fiberglass sculptures were produced and provided to area artists, who turned them into fantastic, individual works of art. |

The lobsters have been unveiled and are being enjoyed by locals and visitors alike, enhancing the wonderful Cape Ann area where they will be located. The Lobsters will be auctioned in the fall to raise funds for Pathways. If you would like to make a Pre-Auction Bid, please use this link. More than 160 volunteers, artists, and sponsors have participated, as well as children from the after-school program at Pathways, who painted their own small lobsters. These lobsters have been adopted by area businesses . Those adopted for the entire summer then belong to the business! |
