As
the Capital Campaign enters the last phase this fall, we have been blessed
with gifts from some very special people. On August 25th, Paul Gaucher
and Peter Niemitz hosted a fundraiser for Pathways at their home in
Gloucester that resulted in the sponsorship of three classrooms for
the campaign - one from a group of Eastern Point neighbors. There were
many sponsors for the evening including the Lyon Waugh Auto Group, J.
Barrett & Company, Landry & Arcari, Executive Source Associates, Carver's
Guild, Northrop & Johnson Yachts, The Fruitful Basket, Turner Seafoods,
The Liquor Locker, Tile Showcase, Manchester Athletic Club, and The
Signery.
Another gift to the Campaign
was hand-delivered - a check for $20, from Pathways teacher Patty Dugan's
after-school classroom of children, who read 80 books over the summer
and received .25 for each book read: .10 from Patty, .10 from her daughter,
and .05 from Patty's dog. Patty had explained the importance of the
Campaign to the children when they had asked about the jar of coins
in the lobby, and they discussed as a class how they could contribute.
The photo on the right shows the bookmarks that the children created
to mark their progress through the summer.
A direct mailing to Cape
Ann businesses mailed out the last week of August. Larger businesses
were sent a campaign brochure with an appeal to make a contribution
to the campaign. Smaller businesses were asked to take an ad in Pathways
40th Anniversary Program Book, to be published next month. If you would
like to participate please
click here for an order form.
Completing the campaign on goal will mean the restoration of program
budgets to pre-campaign levels and will significantly impact our organization's
future. If you have not already contributed to the campaign, please
consider making a personally significant contribution online now to
help us meet our goal by December 31st. Your gift is tax deductible
to the extent allowed by law and additional tax benefits may apply.
To discuss naming or other recognition opportunities, please call the
development office at 978-281-2400 extension 150. Thank you!
