Pathways for Children Management Team

Sue Todd, President & CEO

Sue Todd has served in her current leadership position since 1986, and began her career in human services as a social worker. Sue holds a Bachelor's degree in Sociology as well as an MBA from Suffolk University, and a certificate in Human Services from Boston College School of Social Work.
Sue also advocates for the interests of children and families on local, state and national levels. Her past affiliations include: Chair of the Gloucester Human Services Coalition, member of the executive advisory board to the Commissioner of the Office for Child Care Services; member of the boards of The Massachusetts Council of Human Service Providers, the national Child Welfare League of America (CWLA) and  the Executive Board of the Massachusetts Association of Day Care Agencies. Sue also served for ten years on the CWLA National Child Care Task force and locally, was an active member of the Gloucester Rotary Club from 1986 to 2006, serving as President in 1992-93.  Present affiliations include serving as Chair of the Children's League of Massachusetts, Chair of the Department of Social Services Salem/Cape Ann Area Board, and member of the North Shore United Way CEO Steering Committee.
In 2000, Sue was honored to be one of ten recipients of the national Lewis Hine Award recognizing service to children, having been nominated by The North Shore United Way.


Caroline E. Haines, Chief Operating Officer

Caroline Haines has held several positions since joining Pathways for Children in 1982 as a teacher, including Education Coordinator and Head Start Director. She holds a bachelor's degree in Education from Salem State College, a Certificate in Early Childhood Administration from Cambridge College, and is graduate of the UCLA Johnson and Johnson Management Fellows Program.

Caroline currently serves as a member of the Executive Board of the Massachusetts Association of Early Education and Care (MADCA), and as a member of the Massachusetts Head Start Association and the Cape Ann Partnership for Children and Families. She is a former board member of the National Head Start Association, and has acted as a consultant for both the Education Development Corporation and Danya International.

Kathleen A. Morris, Chief Financial Officer

As CFO, Kathy is responsible for oversight of all financial operations and administrative support services at the agency. She worked as an accountant, accountant/bookkeeper and senior accountant prior to joining Pathways in 1983, and holds a B.S, in Business Administration from Stonehill College, training in Taxation from North Shore Community College, and Financial Management Development through the Massachusetts Auditor's Office.

Kathy is a member of the Child Welfare Financial Administrators and the Child Welfare League of America CFO Affinity Group. She has been a member of the Rockport Rotary Club since 1991 and currently on the Board of Directors. Kathy will be the Vice President in July 2005.

Barbara C. St. Pierre, LICSW, Director of Social Services

Barbara has served as Director of Social Services for Pathways for Children since 1998. Barbara serves as Clinical Director, providing supervision and clinical consultation to a 12-member Social Work Department, as a mental health professional for the Head Start program serving nearly 200 children, and as a liaison for Pathways to the Department of Social Services and other community agencies. Barbara is also a Field Work Supervisor for Salem State College's School of Social Work, and is currently Co-Chair of the Gloucester Child Sexual Abuse Prevention Partnership (GCSAPP).
Prior to coming to Pathways, Barbara was Trauma Team Coordinator and a Child and
Family Therapist for Health & Education Services in Gloucester, and a Family Support Social Worker for the Early Intervention Program at New England Memorial Hospital. Barbara holds an MSW from Salem State College School of Social Work, an MS in Therapeutic Recreation Education from Northeastern University, and a BA from Emmanuel College. She is a member of the National Association of Social Workers, and was previously Chair of the Board of the Friends of the Salem State College School of Social Work, and social work representative to the Children's Mental Health Commission in Massachusetts.

 

Susan S. Stendahl, CFRE, Chief Development Officer

Susan joined Pathways for Children in February, 2004. She is responsible for all institutional advancement efforts including annual and major gifts, corporate and foundation gifts, planned giving, community relations, and special events. She recently oversaw the successful completion of the second phase of the $5.5 Million Pathways Capital Campaign, “That’s My School!”
Prior to joining Pathways, Susan served as Development Officer at VNA Care Network, as Associate Director of Development at Montserrat College of Art, and as Director of Community Relations and Fundraising at CAB Health & Recovery Services. She holds a BFA cum laude in Art Education from Syracuse University, and was awarded the CFRE designation in December, 2002. Susan is a member of the Association of Fund Raising Professionals, Mass. chapter, and the steering committee of the Essex County Development Professionals, and several local nonprofit organizations.

 

Patty Pardee, Safety and Facilities Manager

As the Safety and Facilities Manager, Patty's role has been to ensure the compliance of building licensing requirements, safety protocols, and day to day facilities operations. She has been with Pathways for Children since 1988 coming to the organization as the Executive Administrative Assistant to the President and CEO, a role she still fulfills. She previously was employed by Trial Court of the Commonwealth, Juvenile Court Department, Boston Division for 16 years.

Patty has been trained by Department of Homeland Security's Federal Emergency Management Agency and currently is certified in Incident Command System (ICS) at the 700, 100, and 200 levels. She also sits on the Cape Ann Emergency Planning Team (CAEPT) and the Cape Ann School Safety Committee.
