Family Child Care offers a stimulating and nurturing environment in a warm, homey setting. Each home is licensed by the Commonwealth of Massachusetts for up to six children, ages birth to 6. All homes have mixed age groups which further enhances the “family” feeling and offer learning opportunities as older children provide role models for the younger ones, and the youngest learn by observing and interacting with their older peers.
All Pathways providers must prepare and submit a weekly curriculum plan geared toward the unique group of children in their home and their developmental needs. Nutritious and delicious meals are provided, which follow USDA standards. Monthly visits by Pathways’ staff ensure that all children are happy and appropriately placed and that the environment is healthy and safe. Providers are highly aware of the needs of working parents, and realize that an important part of their job is to make the parent feel comfortable leaving their child when they go off to work.

During our December 2011 Snow Ball, we were proud to honor Stacy Randell and 20 years of Cape Ann Families programs. Thanks to Cape Ann TV that special reception was preserved on video. Click here to enjoy the 17 minute tribute.

Classroom teaching staff provide rich environments for creative art opportunities. Shown above is School Age Care child Tyla's painting of a true Gloucester symbol: a lobster!
